A Need For Classroom Improvements
In January 2010 I made a 28 day visit to Church Army Africa and The Church Army Academy. Alex Kagunda the headmaster at the Academy asked if i would be kind enough to renovate and improve 2 classrooms that over many years had become run down. If you take a look through the photographs below you will see the classrooms had suffered from years of “wear and tear”. The steel sheeting was badly damaged and also caused the rooms to be very hot in the African sun, the rooms were so dark that flash photography was needed even at midday. Lining the rooms with plywood as reduced the heat transfer and i am sure you will agree the new colour scheme is much more pleasant. The classrooms are now a much more comfortable environment for the children of the Academy to learn in. I hope you will agree a “Job Well Done”.
It is always my pleasure to volunteer and help out at the Academy and over the years I have made many great friends there, both teachers and children.
I feel the best way to document this visit would be through an image gallery. Please enjoy the images below which show the whole project from start to finish.
